Midsummer Show, 24th/25th June

The annual Midsummer Show is a showcase for Sark's gardeners with categories for everything from 'Large Gardens' through to produce and home-made jams. In previous years, at least a dozen gardens were entered and judges from Guernsey toured the island to examine them.

The children make the show worth a visit, with all the work that they put into their handicrafts and miniature gardens - and there is never a shortage of sloe gin and any other varieties, which include sloe vodka, blackberry vodka and blackberry brandy, which is delicious. The judges always leave the judging of these and the home made wines until last, just before they are given lunch!
